Bond Projects


The voters in the Mayer Unified School District approved a $2,000,000 capital bond issue on November 6, 2007. The bonds were approved for the following purposes:

  • Renovation of school buildings
  • Improve equipment and capital purchases for the instructional program
  • Improve school grounds
  • Purchase pupil transportation vehicles

Completed bond projects include:

  • Lighting retrofits at elementary and high schools
  • Purchase of two 77 passenger route buses with air conditioning
  • Purchase of one 71 passenger route bus with air conditioning
  • Purchase of one 78 passenger travel/route bus with air conditioning
  • Purchase of one 60 passenger special needs bus with air conditioning and chairlift
  • Purchase of one 72 passenger route bus
  • Purchase of John Deere tractor with loader
  • Purchase of cars/vans for student/staff needs
  • Repairs to septic systems at elementary and high schools
  • Removal of underground fuel tank and installation of aboveground fuel tank
  • Purchase of four steel storage containers
  • Upgrades to fire pump houses at elementary and high schools
  • Upgrade well capacity at high school, rebuild pump house, and add 20,000 gallon tank to extend service to baseball and softball fields
  • Improve handicapped accessibility to building entrances
  • Renovation of plumbing and partitions at elementary and high school restrooms
  • Replace damaged flooring at elementary school
  • Complete renovation of junior high wing at elementary school including ceiling, lighting, flooring, and electrical
  • Install surge suppressors for all school buildings
  • Complete renovation of three classrooms adjacent to elementary school including lighting, electrical, flooring, plumbing, ADA compliance and fire alarm system
  • Complete renovation of student locker rooms at elementary school including plumbing, drywall, electrical, lighting, flooring, new water heaters
  • Installation of security fencing district-wide
  • Installation of 20 ft x 70 ft shade structure at high school
  • Remodel weight room at high school
  • Construction of 40 ft x 40 ft steel building at high school campus
  • Playground improvements for elementary school including playground equipment, fencing, sidewalks, and water fountains
  • Installation of video surveillance security systems for elementary and high schools
  • Electrical improvements to agriculture science facility including shop, pond, and greenhouse
  • Purchase of food service equipment including cooling for dry storage room, refurbish walk-in freezer, coolers and freezers, mobile heated cabinets, and utility units
  • Installation of new doors and locking hardware for elementary and high schools and transportation department
  • Renovations of transportation department wiring, network cabling, and HVAC
  • Renovation of plumbing for high school football restrooms
  • Installation of monitoring equipment for elementary and high school fire pump systems
