    4 Day Work week, 12 month position

    Position Overview:

    Leadership, supervisory and administrative skills, to manage the assigned school so as to promote the maximum education opportunity for and development of each student.  Ability to establish and maintain procedures for the resolution of conflict in an effort to maintain a high level of staff morale.

    Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree or higher.
    • Valid Arizona Administrator’s certificate to practice as a school principal.
    • Previous experience in public school administration preferred.
    • Previous experience as a classroom teacher.
    • Ability to lead and direct staff effectively.
    • Proficient in working with parents and the public.

    Specific Duties:

    • Works cooperatively and maintains effective relationships with students, parents, school district, community, county and state personnel, public officials and the general public.
    • Responds with tact and courtesy, in public, or telephone contact situations and provides information requiring a knowledge of state and county education laws, board policies, district procedures and general education information pertaining to the school district.
    • Separates those items that are of a confidential nature from those that are not.
    • Represents the Superintendent as the chief administrative officer and educational leader of the school to which assigned.
    • Operates the school within the established board policies, district objectives, state and federal statutes.
    • Keeps the superintendent informed regarding the total educational program, activities and needs.
    • Responsible for the welfare of the students and staff within the school environment.
    • Consults with District personnel to coordinate the operation of the school in matters which relate to the entire school district.
    • Coordinates all school activities
    • Communicates school conditions relating to custodial care and school plant planning and management to the MUSD Operations Director.
    • Works closely with the Superintendent and Personnel Office to select, assign and schedule staff at their school
    • Writes evaluations on all teachers and non-certificated personnel under their jurisdiction.
    • Addresses grievances from staff, students and parents according to MUSD policy.
    • Responsible for the classification, promotion or retention of students within the district policy and administrative guidelines.
    • Oversees the attendance and conduct of the pupils.
    • Responsible for the inventory and control of district property.
    • Ability to learn from experience and informal/formal instruction
    • Demonstrating flexibility in adjusting to variable workload and job duties
    • Participating in maintaining an organized, clean, and safe work environment
    • Abiding by the strict confidentiality policy of the District

    Pre-K Teacher/ELL

    4 day work week - January start date

    Position Overview:

    To provide an approved education program and establish a class environment that fosters learning and personal growth. Establish effective rapport with students. Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for continued education in accordance with each student's ability. Maintain good relationships with parents and other staff members. 

    The position of English Language Learner Coordinator is to provide a guaranteed and viable curriculum for English Language Learner students.  Monitor the program for compliance in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations. The English Language Learner will be required to fulfill the essential functions of the position which are listed below.

    Qualifications:

    • Valid Arizona teaching certificate 
    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Valid driver’s license required
    • Effective oral and written communication skills
    • Must possess strong organizational and problem-solving skills
    • Demonstrate strong work ethic, ability to work independently and the need for minimal supervision.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality
    • Create positive public relations

    Specific Duties:

    • Responsible for the teaching of curriculum that is aligned to the Arizona State Standards.
    • Maintains complete and accurate records of student grades and attendance.
    • Responsible for maintaining classroom control.
    • Advises students and contacts that parent/guardian when necessary.
    • Provides direct supervision to all assigned students.
    • Assists in supervising the conduct and welfare of all students on the school premises or at school functions.
    • Cares for and assists in protecting school property.
    • Assists in stimulating and supporting student activities.
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Leads and coordinates the development and implementation of district programs and services for English learners.
    • Leads, coordinates, develops, and delivers appropriate staff training for English learner programs
    • Coordinates all assessment and placement of English learners based on federal, state, and district requirements with the district. 
    • Collaborates with principals to implement and comply with state and federal regulations.
    • Attends ADE meetings related to administration of Title III, SEI, EL programs, and AZELLA.
    • Assists Student Support Services personnel in AZELLA related administration, including AZELLA training for support staff.
    • Serves as LEA contact to ADE OELAS office.
    • Supports the teaching, learning and assessment of the State Board adopted English Language Proficiency Standards.
